That is why they only serve to falsify the five cylinders of the organic machine, to remove our capacity for wonder, to develop the sensual mind and forge in us a false personality; and that is all.

Thus, let it be clearly understood that the Sensual Mind could in no way produce a RADICAL TRANSFORMATION in us. It is convenient to understand that the Sensual Mind, no matter how cultured it may seem, could never take us out of the automatism and mechanicalness in which everyone finds themselves.

The merely animal man is one thing, that is, the "intellectual animal" and another thing (very different indeed, by the way), is the true Psychological Man. By quoting the word "man", I naturally also include the woman, and this must be clearly understood..."
